Adding a stop by postcode or address Partly available
Search a postcode or address and pick the exact premises. The full premises list needs the address provider switched on by the account owner.
- Tap Search a postcode or address.
- Type the postcode, then filter by house number, flat or business.
- Pick the exact premises — the route goes to that premises, not the middle of the postcode.
Without the premises provider you still get postcode, street, business and named-building results from open data, and the app labels them as such.
Finding one address in a long postcode list
When Add stop shows the addresses for a postcode, just say which one: "find 101", "find flat 12", "find unit four" or "find the TSG building". VeDa moves it to the top and highlights it. Say "that's it" to add it, or "no, the other one" if she picked the wrong one.
- Say or type a postcode in Add stop.
- Say "find" and a house number, flat, unit or name.
- If two places match, VeDa reads them out — say "the first one", "the second one" or the name.
- Say "that's it" to add it. You can also say it all at once: "add EN6 3JN and find number 101".
VeDa only searches the list that is already on your screen, so finding an address doesn't cost another lookup. If it isn't there she says so and never guesses. When you pick one after using your own name for it ("the TSG building"), she remembers that name for next time, and the official address stays exactly as it is. If it's already on your round she tells you instead of adding it twice. If you've saved the delivery entrance for that place (Correct Location), she tells you and the stop uses it. You can spell a name ("T S G") and she copes with small mishearings, but she never picks a guess on her own.
Finding an address with no postcode or a wrong postcode Partly available
Give VeDa the clues you have and she finds the real address: "find number 18 Arrow Close and add it properly", "this postcode looks wrong, find number 18 on this road", "find TSG near here" or "find Rose Cottage in this postcode".
- Say "find" and what you know: the house number and street, a flat, the town, a business name or a house name.
- No postcode, or a wrong one? Say so: "the postcode is wrong, find the real one". VeDa searches with the number, street and town instead.
- If two places fit, VeDa asks one short question, like "Dallow Road or Sundon Park?". Answer with the street, "the first one" or "the nearest one".
- If the real postcode is different from the parcel, VeDa tells you and asks before using it.
- Say "add it", or add more in the same sentence: "add it, make it first and navigate" or "add a timer and navigate".
- Typed or scanned something that was not found? Tap "Let VeDa find it from the clues" in Add stop.
VeDa only uses addresses that really exist and never makes up a house number. She checks your own earlier deliveries and the free map and address data first. A paid postal lookup is used at most once, and only for the one postcode the free data points to. She never changes a postcode without finding the property itself, and she always asks you first. The stop keeps what the label said next to the address VeDa checked. "Find everything you can about this address" tells you what VeDa knows for the delivery: the full address, postcode, the property reference, whether the map pin is on the building, a saved entrance and earlier deliveries. It never tells you anything personal about the people there.
Why did VeDa say a stop has no location?
A stop's address couldn't be matched to real coordinates (a failed or skipped geocode). Open that stop and re-enter the address — VeDa deliberately won't show it on the map with an invalid location, which is what a real freeze/crash risk looks like from a bad coordinate.
